What’s your elevator pitch?
In this project we want to find out how different types of interneurons shape the encoding of visual motion. We expect different roles in different areas preferring different types of motion.
Novel optogenetic tools and recording technologies now enable us to record large, distributed populations of identified neurons and to manipulate them while the animal is actively judging its perception.
As a child, the classic: Asking myself whether other people see the same red that I see on my ball. As a student: lectures on visual illusions and conscious perception.
