Imagine we’re in an elevator and you have until we reach our floor to pitch your project/idea.

What’s your elevator pitch?

Interneurons are very diverse, resulting in qualitatively different ways how electrical pulses are generated. We explore which dynamical classes interneurons belong to as well as the resulting computational consequences.

What fascinates you about your project?

It is amazing how the dynamics within neurons can change the behaviour of large networks of them.

How did you come to work in the field of Neuroscience?

Neuroscience is a wonderful field of research, full of big riddles that affect the core of our self and where mathematics can sometimes make a difference in understanding.

What does your family think you do for a living?

Something between trying to solve the big puzzles of this world and sitting in an office all day, chatting and having coffee. They all agree, however, that this life is super busy and often stressful – which is true.
